Samsung Series 3 – Faster than a standard Netbook
Samsung Series 3 – Faster than a standard Netbook
Before this, we saw the Samsung Series 9 laptops which were made to compete with MacBook Air. But it was expensive and out of reach for a mid-range user. Samsung then made a mainstream laptop for called Series 3 and the first version of this laptop is a 11.6 inches model. It is a step down version of the high end Samsung Series 9. It is an 11 inches ultraportable laptop having a pretty good design. The Korean manufacturer has used an Intel Core i3 chip inside instead of the higher end processors inside. 11 inch version of Samsung Series 3 will put you back by $699 and some are offering a discount of $100 too. This price tag isn’t close to any laptop in the full featured pricing territory and it is also more expensive than the ultraportables having AMD chips inside. The  [...]

Samsung’s Newly 7 Series Aimed Towards Gamers
Samsung’s Newly 7 Series Aimed Towards Gamers
Samsung generally is not the ideal manufacturer of gamer friendly laptops and hence we don’t even associate Samsung with gamers. But all that seems to be changing with Samsung’s all new 7 series laptops. The feature list for the laptop makes it very clear that the system is aimed towards gamers, and that it’s not only the hardware that will suit the gamers. Samsung this time has taken everything that it takes to make an ideal gaming fanatic laptop, and it becomes rather apparent with this system. The most apparent feature that the gamers will like in this laptop is its backlit keyboard, especially the D, S, A and W D keys, which comes in decent red,  [...]

Samsung Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi – Good alternative to the iPad
Samsung Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi – Good alternative to the iPad
Samsung Galaxy Tab was one of the first competitors for the Apple iPad but it didn’t really sell well. One of the main reasons for this was that that tablet had 3G; there wasn’t a Wi-Fi only version and people who just needed Wi-Fi went for Apple iPad. The Wi-Fi only version is now available and it is still based on Android 2.2 which is an OS that is optimized for cell phones. The Android 3.0 aka Honeycomb OS which is made for tablets would have been a better option. Samsung Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi comes with GPS and the included app does a great job as navigation device in the car. You get turn-by-turn directions, voice search (through the integrated microphone), and points of interest. One more advantage of that the Tab has over Apple iPad is the Adobe Flash 10.1 compatibility  [...]

Samsung Series 9 NP900X3A (13-inch) – For locking horns with MacBook Air
Samsung Series 9 NP900X3A (13-inch) – For locking horns with MacBook Air
Samsung Series 9 NP900X3A laptop is the company’s answer to Apple MacBook Air. Both these laptops have similar dimensions and are targeted at fashion enthusiasts. It is really thin but then you need to pay extra for the cool looks. One thing worth mentioning about the design is that the ports are all hidden beneath small flip down doors on the either sides and are tucked away beneath sloping edge. This reminded of first generation MacBook Air where Apple used this design. The doors will flip shut once you place the laptop on an even surface. But let me tell you that it is very messy to put cables inside the laptop. Samsung Series 9 NP900X3A comes with 4GB RAM out of the box but you can expand it to eight gigabytes. There is no option for storage though and you get just 128 GB of SSD. Apple  [...]

Samsung Go N310 – Different Looking Basic Netbook
Samsung Go N310 – Different Looking Basic Netbook
In current scenario, the mainstream Netbook genre is something in which you just can’t experiment too much, and it’s a rather rigid format. The definition of mainstream netbook in the this time is, a system with 1GB of RAM, an Intel Atom N270 processor, a version of Windows XP and a 160GB hard drive. Bring in all the aforementioned components and you’ve got yourself the same product as promised by the PC makers for example HP, Acer and Dell. The same is the case with Samsung Go N310 as well, and it doesn’t stray away from that particular territory, but what it offers in addition to all the above mentioned features is an enjoyable, multicolored plastic shell.
