Fujitsu LifeBook SH76/E – Thinnest Ultrabook in The World
Every laptop maker in the market is launching one or another Ultrabook, with the claim of it being the thinnest Ultrabook in the world. We already had seen the Ultrabooks from HP and Acer, and now we have Fujitsu with their Fujitsu LifeBook SH76/E. The newly launched LifeBook SH76/E is Fujitsu’s Ultrabook and the company is claiming that it’s the thinnest Ultrabook in the world. But the sad thing here is that the LifeBook SH76/E fails on a lot of departments. Let’s have a look at the departments where the Fujitsu LifeBook SH76/E fails or falls short of the claims made by the company. The first and foremost area is the claim of being the “thinnest Ultrabook”, measuring 16.6 mm, the LifeBook SH76/E clearly is not the thinnest notebook, and weighing 1.34 kg it also is not the lightest  [...]

Getac X500 – Tough and Performing
Getac X500 – Tough and Performing
Generally when we hear about a rugged laptop, the first thing that comes into our minds is the military-grade plethora of tradeoffs. In general these tradeoffs mean low speed, aged CPUs, smaller hard drives and lack of ports. Sometimes even the operating system in these laptops is prior generation operating systems. So, regardless of the manufacturer, when you go shopping for a rugged laptop generally we end up having a bulky, sluggish device. But we think that with Getac X500 all that just could change. While the Getac X500 is a rugged laptop it doesn’t have that conventional tradeoffs that modern laptops have. The power for the Getac X500 comes from a 2.67GHz Core i7 CPU, in addition to a solid state hard drive of 160 GB and 4GB of RAM. And to surprise of everyone  [...]

MSI GX660 – Affordable But Ugly Gaming Notebook
MSI GX660 – Affordable But Ugly Gaming Notebook
If you haven’t seen the MSI GX660 personally then let us tell you that this is one of the most dreadfully unattractive computers ever made. We don’t understand the reason why the engineers at MSI decided to give it such a dreadful look, but whatever the reason was it still is one of the ugliest computers that we’ve came across. The only computer that gave us similar feeling was the original Dell Inspiron XPS, and since then we haven’t seen any computer as ugly as this one. The MSI GX660 looks like an entry from an era of’70s sci-fi fanatics, and within itself it conceals weird textures, a blend of automotive inspirations, insensitive angles and foolish octagonal designs trying hard to fit in together together. The worst thing here is that we’ve known MSI  [...]

T-Mobile G-Slate is the second tablet PC to have Honeycomb OS inside after Motorola Xoom. The new OS is made especially for tablets and it is different from the mobile phone versions. Even people who have used Android OS before will need some time get used to the navigation system. There is no four finger navigation on the screen’s bottom. The context sensitive options and menus are to be accessed from the screen’s top. Notifications pop up from lower right side and the back arrow occasionally morphs in to down arrow when keyboard is engaged. This lets you to reveal or conceal the keyboard. Apple MacBook Air Fall 2010 – No backlighting for the keyboard
Apple’s original ultrathin MacBook Air was a luxury product – it had an alluring design which was offset by some limited connections and the processor inside was underpowered to make the battery life long. It was useful just for a small number of people. Now the company is back with Apple MacBook Air Fall 2010 and it addresses most of the issues that people had with the original Air. There is now another USB port, SD card slot, faster processor and higher resolution screen. For maximizing the battery life, there is just one SSD hard drive now and just like the 11 inch model that I reviewed last year, this laptop starts up really fast and wakes up from the sleep state faster than ever. These improvements don’t really come cheap though. You will have to shell out $1,299 (or more  [...]
